Frequently Asked Questions
What thickness wet suit will I need?
That depends on how much you feel the cold. Winter temp is around 18 and summer 25. In the summer you could use a 3mm one piece, certainly no more than 5mm. Winter may require a 2 piece 5mm or, if you are a real sissy like us, then bring your dry suit!!!
Do we go out in the boat all day?
No, we dive from our rib and the sites are all around 20 minutes from the harbour. From start to finish the boat will be out for approx 2 hours so if you join our 9am dive you can be back at your hotel by lunchtime.
Do you pick up from hotels and apartments?
Yes we do, and after the dive we will drop you back.
What time does the boat go out?
We do a morning dive that leaves at 9am and then we return to the harbour and enjoy a relaxed surface interval in one of the local restaurants for a bite of lunch and head out at 1pm for the afternoon dive.
Is there anything to do in Tenerife for my family? Heaps - there is good shopping, plenty of bars and good restaurants, there is the aquapark with a dolphin show for the kids, quad biking, and all in the Las Americas area. Then if you venture further afield there is Mount Teide with its lunar landscape, well worth a trip. ( just be careful of the altitude if you have been diving all week as the top is 12000ft).
I would like to learn to dive but don’t want to spend my holiday in a classroom.
No problem, you can complete the theory at home and then just do the pool work and open water dives when you get here. Contact us for details.
Do I need diving insurance?
Yes, most of the standard travel policies will cover you up to 30metres. For anything deeper you will need to get a specialised policy from someone like DAN.
Is there a decompression chamber on the island?
Yes, in Santa Cruz about 50 minutes away
If I am diving with you for a few days can you store my gear?
Yes, we have plenty of room for storage of customers equipment. |
